BROWPEXY
Gradual falling of the brow is a normal part of aging – browpexy is the concept of lifting the central and outer portion of the eyebrow to "open up" the eyelid to achieve a more rested and youthful look. This procedure differs from a traditional brow lift, which elevates the entire eyebrow, often the inner portion, more than the rest. These more elegant and subtle techniques do not create scarring or numbness of the scalp. They are associated with very little bruising and swelling and have a short recovery period.
Procedure
A browpexy is performed in two different ways. In the traditional lift, an incision is made next to the patient's ears in a single continuous cut that extends to the hairline. Rest assured that the incision is in an inconspicuous area to avoid noticeable scarring.
The second technique is the endoscopic lift which is less invasive and creates less scarring than browpexy. For this method, fewer and shorter incisions are made on the scalp. Small anchors may be used to keep tissues in appropriate positions.
Smoking, drinking alcohol, and taking certain medications can affect recovery and the results. Also, you may be advised to stop taking anti-inflammatory drugs for a certain period as they interfere with the body's blood clotting ability.
