SCULPTRA®
FDA approved in the U.S. and used worldwide since 1999, Sculptra® works gradually over time for a more youthful appearance. Sculptra® is a molecule called poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), which is a biocompatible and biodegradable material that is gradually and organically absorbed by the body. FUN FACT: Sculptra® can even be found in dissolvable sutures.
As we know, aging can lead to the absence of underlying bone and the deterioration of muscle fullness over time. Additionally, the degradation of collagen as we age is one of the causes of wrinkles. The best part about Sculptra® is that it builds up the patient’s collagen. By simulating an inflammatory reaction, Sculptra® contributes to the production of the patient’s collagen.
Sculptra® has been shown to have real, lasting power compared to other hyaluronic acid fillers such as Voluma®, Juvederm®, Restylane®, etc. There are definite indications for Sculptra® versus one of the hyaluronic acids, such as Voluma® or Restylane Lift®.
In Dr. Crais’ practice, he has found that combining them can get an immediate response and effect with a longer-lasting result and effect. The overall satisfaction rate with Sculptra® is exceptionally high with a slight risk percentage.
